Altomar Adiabatic Cooling Towers combine the efficiency of dry cooling with the enhanced performance of evaporative pre-cooling. The system operates in dry mode for most of the year and automatically activates adiabatic cooling during peak ambient temperatures, ensuring reliable heat rejection while using only a fraction of the water consumed by conventional cooling towers. This hybrid approach can reduce water consumption by up to 95–98% compared with traditional open cooling towers while maintaining dependable thermal performance.

HOW IT WORKS​

Dry Mode:

During normal ambient conditions, process fluid flows through high-efficiency finned heat exchanger coils. Ambient air is drawn across the coils by energy-efficient axial fans, providing completely dry cooling without water consumption.

Adiabatic Mode :

When ambient temperatures rise, water is circulated through specially designed adiabatic pads positioned before the heat exchanger. As air passes through these wetted pads, its temperature is reduced naturally through evaporation before reaching the coils. The cooler air significantly increases heat rejection capacity while consuming only a small amount of water.
